Veteran’s Tiny House Project

 

Kansas City area veterans have formed a non-profit corporation, The Veteran’s Community Project, to combat veteran’s homelessness and provide support. Through contributions and partnerships, Veteran’s Community Project is creating communities of tiny homes and on-site services to provide housing stability and address the underlying cause of the Veteran’s homelessness.
Their mission:
• Eliminate veteran homelessness
• Provide transitional housing for veterans
• Provide on-site services such as:
*counseling
*job training
*therapy
*financial management

Chapter HL of the PEO Sisterhood, is partnering with The Veterans Community Project to promote the Tiny House Project, by offering an opportunity to the public to visit a Tiny House first hand.
This event will immediately follow their entry in the Old Settlers Parade in Olathe, Kansas, Saturday, September 8.The Tiny House will be parked at American Legion Post 153 Pavilion, 410 E. Dennis, Olathe, from 12:30-4:30 for visits.

Tickets are $5.00, children under 12 free.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the American Legion Pavilion, on September 8, with all profits going to support the Veteran’s Community Project.

Phase I has been completed with 13 Tiny Houses granted to homeless veterans.
